Store Clerk, Part-Time (2-4 shifts / 12-24 hours per week)
Full Circle is downtown Kitchener’s local and zero-waste grocery store. Since 1981, we have championed local products, zero-waste shopping options, and plant-based foods long before it was cool. Every team member is trained in a wide variety of tasks. From customer service to receiving deliveries, food preparation to stocking shelves and cleaning, every team member does a mix of front-of-house and back-of-house tasks. Everyone including the boss mops the floor. We’re a small and versatile team of people who support one another.
As a store clerk, your responsibilities would include:
- Ensuring customers have a great experience in store and online
- Receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, packing orders for delivery, and lots of bulk stocking
- Providing product recommendations to customers
- Handling cash and processing transactions in the point-of-sale system
- Preparing fresh produce for optimal freshness
- Simple food preparation (no cooking)
- Cooperating with teammates to accomplish all daily tasks and occasional projects
- Communicating with vendors to ensure smooth deliveries and product quality
- Working independently in the store with no supervision
- Lifting heavy boxes and bags up to 50lb / 25kg
Job details:
- 2-4 shifts, 12-24 hours per week
- $23/hour (living wage certified, adjusted annually)
- We are looking for availability mainly during the weekends and weekday evenings. If you only have weekend availability we still encourage you to apply.
- Greatest need for availability Wednesday-Sunday
- Shifts are scheduled one month at a time
- 6-month contract with possibility of extension to a permanent position
- 1 week paid sick leave per year + other job-protected leave policies
- 3 weeks paid vacation per year
- 15% reimbursement for GRT transit pass
- Respiratory health measures:
- Masks provided
- HEPA+UV filter at cash register
- MERV-13 filters in HVAC system
- Regular sanitation of high-touch surfaces
- Online ordering

- Food handling certificate is an asset
